Brilliant Stories of Henan, Focuses on Henan Delegation from the Media at Home and Abroad
中原好声音，世界来聆听。3月6日上午，北京河南大厦四楼国际会议厅春意盎然、气氛热烈。出席十三届全国人大二次会议的河南代表团举行联组会议，并向中外媒体开放。人民日报、新华社、香港大公文汇报、北欧时报等境内外69家媒体140余名记者到场采访，共同聚焦出彩中原。
The whole world is expecting the brilliant voices from the Central Plains. On the morning of March 6, at the International Conference Hall on the fourth floor of the Beijing Henan Plaza, in a warm and inspiring atmosphere, the Henan delegation of the Second Session of the 13th National People’s Congress held an open panel meeting to the media. Around 140 journalists from 69 media institutions at home and abroad, including People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, Hong Kong Wen Wei Po and Nordic Chinese Times, were on spot to cover the event, focusing on the brilliant stories of Henan.
出彩，就是把事情做得精彩、做得成功
To make Henan brilliant is to accomplish things brilliantly and successfully
“习近平总书记把中原更加出彩与中国梦联系在一起，指出了河南的地位贡献，讲出了河南人的责任担当。”河南代表团团长王国生在回答人民日报记者关于如何争做新时代出彩河南人的提问时说。
“President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, pointed out the positioning contribution of Henan province and the responsibility of Henan people, connecting the goal of making Central Plains brilliant with the Chinese dream.” Wang Guosheng, head of Henan delegation, replied in responding to the question from the journalist of the People’s Daily on how to behave for the goal of making Henan brilliant in the new era.
王国生说，中原大地是一片热土，有数不清的出彩河南人。新中国成立后，焦裕禄同志的“三股劲”影响了几代人。红旗渠每年吸引着众多人前来参观学习，寻找精神动力。这些宝贵精神财富，铸就了出彩河南人的鲜亮底色。
Wang Guosheng remarked that the fertile ground of the Central China’s Henan province has bred countless brilliant Henan heroes. Since the foundation of new China, Jiao Yülu’s “Three Strengths” have exerted profound influences on generations. Each year, the Red Flag Canal (Hongqi Qu) attracts a great number of visitors and learners for spiritual energy encouragement. These precious spiritual treasures have forged the brilliant figure of Henan people.
“今天的河南，有讲不完的出彩故事。”王国生为记者讲述了一个个出彩故事：去年一年河南就有117人入选中国好人榜；“最美教师”李芳在关键时刻以血肉之躯阻挡失控车辆，保护了学生；16.5万名淅川移民舍弃小家守护绿水青山；瑞贝卡从一个游走于乡间“找头发换针”的货郎摊，一步步成长为发制品国际一线品牌；“好想你”把一颗大枣打造成了“网红”食品，做成了大产业；无中生有打造出空中、陆上、网上、海上“四条丝绸之路”，“1210”跨境电商监管模式海外复制推广；高标准规划、高品位建设的郑东新区，一张蓝图绘到底，短短十几年平地崛起一座现代化国际新城。
“Today’s Henan has endless brilliant stories.” Wang Guosheng told these brilliant stories one by one to the reporters: Last year, 117 Henan people were voted into the list of Chinese Good Fellows; Li Fang, the “Most Beautiful Teacher”, stopped the runaway motorbike with her body in order to protect the students at the dangerous moment; 165 thousand Xichuan immigrants moved out of their hometowns in order to protect the green hills and clear waters; Rebecca has grown into an international first-class brand of hair products from a vendor’s stall in the countryside; the date brand “Hao Xiang Ni” developed into a “web celebrity” brand as a big industry; the Aerial, Land, Online and Maritime Silk Roads have been created out of nothing; the customs surveillance under code “1210” for cross-border E-commerce has been introduced to other countries; and the Zhengdong New District, which is planned with high standard and constructed with high grade, has been built up as a new metropolitan city in just over ten years.
对出彩该怎么去理解？王国生这样说道，出彩就是把事情做得精彩、做得成功，成就大事是出彩，做好小事也是出彩。出彩是具体的，离每个人都很近，只要脚踏实地去做，人人皆能出彩。他进一步指出：“出彩是一种价值追求，让人们努力奋斗；是一种目标导向，把人们凝聚起来；是一种文化符号，唤起人们共同认知；是一种精神动力，让大家受到激励、见贤思齐；是一种时代标准，让每个人都展现新时代的新作为，为推动高质量发展作贡献。”
How to understand “making brilliant”? Wang Guosheng said that “making brilliant” is to accomplish things brilliantly and successfully no matter the things are big or small. “Making brilliant” is concrete and close to everyone. As long as you are doing things practical and down to the earth, everyone can become brilliant. He further pointed out, “Making brilliant is a pursuit of value to call on people struggle together; an orientation of target to gather people together; a symbol of culture to arouse people’s shared cognition; a power of spirit to inspire people and learn from each other; and a standard of new era to display a new behavior for contributions to promote high-quality development.”
突出打好“四张牌”谋求发展高质量
To strive for high-quality development with the outstanding “Four Cards”
河南作为中部工业大省，该如何推动经济高质量发展？中央广播电视总台的记者就这个问题向河南代表团副团长陈润儿提问。
As a major industrial province in Central China, how to promote high-quality economic development in Henan province? A reporter from China Central Radio and Television asked Chen Run’er, deputy head of the Henan delegation.
“对河南来讲，推动经济高质量发展既是一个时代课题，也是一场现实大考。”陈润儿说，5年前的春天，习近平总书记莅临河南视察指导，寄予“中原更加出彩”的殷切期望，提出打好“四张牌”的明确要求，为我们推动高质量发展指明了方向、提供了遵循。
“For Henan, the promotion of high-quality economic development is not only an issue of the times, but also a practical test.” Chen Run'er said that in one Spring five years ago, President Xi visited Henan province for inspection and guidance. He placed great expectations on the Central Plains “to make Henan more brilliant” and put forward clear requirements on playing the "Four Cards" (optimization and upgrading of industrial structure, innovation-driven development, infrastructure construction, and integrated development between urban and rural areas), which pointed out the direction and provided guidance for Henan to promote high-quality development.
陈润儿告诉记者，“四张牌”中，产业结构优化升级是基础，创新驱动发展是途径，基础能力建设是条件，推动城乡融合发展是目标，体现了高质量发展的内在联系和有机统一。5年来，河南省委、省政府深入落实总书记的重要讲话精神，突出打好“四张牌”，谋求发展高质量。
Chen Run'er also told the reporter that in the “Four Cards”, optimization and upgrading of industrial structure is the foundation, innovation-driven development is the approach, infrastructure construction capacity-building is the condition and promotion of integrated development between urban and rural areas is the goal, which reflects the internal connection and organic unity of high-quality development. Over the past five years, Henan Provincial Party Committee and Government have fully implemented the essence of the important speech delivered by the general secretary Xi, focusing on the “Four Cards” and seeking high-quality development.
“以‘四张牌’为抓手，通过这几年的实践，河南高质量发展呈现出新变化新气象。”陈润儿向记者逐一列举成效：推进了结构优化，加快了技术升级，促进了转型发展，提高了质量效益。他举例说，去年全省高新技术产业、新兴战略产业增长幅度，大大高于规上工业的平均增长水平。
“Taking the ‘Four Cards’ as the starting point, through the years of practice, the high-quality development of Henan province has taken on new changes and new looks.” Chen Run'er listed the results to the reporter one by one: the structural optimization has been promoted, the technological upgrading has been accelerated, the transformation development has been promoted, and the quality efficiency has been raised. For example, the growth rate of high-tech and emerging strategic industries in Henan province last year was much higher than the average growth rate of industries above the designated level, he said.
感受着一个开放自信、更加出彩的河南
To experience an open, confident and more brilliant Henan province

“从‘中原粮仓’到‘国人厨房’，再到‘世界餐桌’，河南这些年围绕‘农’字做出了大文章。”宋虎振代表回答新华社记者关于保障粮食安全的问题。他说，作为全国农业大省、粮食生产大省，河南承担着保障国家粮食安全的重任，将通过落实责任、藏粮于地、藏粮于技，建设高标准粮田，提高农业科技水平，同时以“四优四化”为突破口，加快农业供给侧结构性改革，调动广大农民种粮积极性，提高农业的比较效益。
“From the ‘Central Plains Granary’ to the ‘National Kitchen’ and to the ‘World Dining-table’, Henan province has accomplished significant achievements focusing on “agriculture”. Deputy Song Zhenhu answered the question on grain security raised from the Xinhua News Agency. He said that as a major agricultural province and a major grain-producing province, Henan still undertakes the important responsibilities of ensuring the national grain security. Henan will build high-standard grain fields and improve the level of agricultural science and technology by implementing its responsibilities, storing grains with sufficient field and high-level technology. At the same time, taking the “Four High-qualities and Four Developments” (high-quality wheat, high-quality peanut, high-quality forage and livestock, high-quality forestry and fruit, layout localization, scale operation, production standardization, and development industrialization) as the starting point, Henan will accelerate the supply-side structural reform of agriculture, mobilize the enthusiasm of farmers to grow grains, and improve the comparative efficiency of agriculture.
河南如何通过空中、陆上、网上、海上“四条丝绸之路”，更好地打造内陆开放高地？张延明代表回答北欧时报记者时说，河南主动融入“一带一路”建设，形成了“四路并举”格局。郑州机场客货运量继续保持中部第一，“空中丝绸之路”越飞越广；河南保税跨境电商先进经验等在全国复制推广，“网上丝绸之路”越来越便捷；中欧班列（郑州）每周开行十八班，“陆上丝绸之路”越跑越快；积极对接“海上丝绸之路”，多式联运物流体系基本形成，河南对外开放的大门越开越大。
How does Henan province better make inland open economy better through the Aerial, Land, Online and Maritime Silk Roads? Deputy Zhang Yanming told the Nordic Chinese Times that Henan province has actively integrated into the "Belt and Road" construction, gradually forming a pattern of “coordinated development of four ways”. The passenger and cargo volume of Zhengzhou Airport continues to be the largest in Central China, and the “Aerial Silk Road” has been developing. The advanced experience of Henan bonded cross-border E-commerce has been promoted nationwide, making the “Online Silk Road” more and more convenient. The China Railway Express between Europe and Zhengzhou runs 18 times a week, and the “Land Silk Road” is getting faster and faster. At the same time, Henan province has actively connected with the “Maritime Silk Road”, basically formed a multi-modal transport and logistics system, and opened its door wider and wider to the outside world.
“我为泥土代言，让中国的每一寸沃土都能打出好粮食”“让更多的人都喜欢听戏，倾听中国好声音”……代表们围绕乡村振兴、防范金融风险、产业发展、卫生健康、“双一流”建设、科技创新、文艺院团发展、土壤治理、民营经济等热点话题建言献策，紧贴实际、饱含真情，吸引了中外记者的浓厚兴趣。
“I speak for the soil, hoping that every inch of fertile soil in China can produce high-quality grains”, “Hoping more people enjoy listening to the opera and the voice of China”...The deputies made suggestions on hot topics, such as rural revitalization, prevention of financial risks, industrial development, public health, “double first-level” construction, scientific and technological innovation, development of arts and art troupes, soil management and private economy, which were closely related to reality and full of sincerity, and attracted the strong interest of the media at home and abroad.
